SailTime Lake Macquarie is planning a few coastal, offshore sailing adventures to Newcastle with the opportunity for some whale watching (hopefully) in July. This will be a wonderful experience for our members.

SailTime will be welcoming three new owner members and three new boats to our NSW fleet in the next three months  SailTime Newport will welcome "Kookaburra " a Jeanneau 42DS;  SailTime Middle Harbour will welcome "Kingfisher" a Beneteau Oceanis 37  and  SailTime Lake Macquarie will welcome a new Beneteau Oceanis 34 -this will see the SailTime NSW fleet expand to 7 boats in three locations Newport , Middle Harbour and Lake Macquarie in addition to  "Reflection"  an Oceanis 37 at SailTime Hobart and "Matika V" a Jeanneau 379  at SailTime Moreton Bay

Upon completion of your course all students receive a $200 voucher toward your next course.

• Competent Crew course is for those new to sailing who would like to learn to sail and become active crew members rather than just passengers. Learn to sail while living on board and getting to know the boat. Virtually all the course is hands on. You are the competent crew – without you the sails won't go up and the boat won't be steered.
• The RYA Day Skipper Practical is for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience and basic navigation and sailing skills. Learn to skipper a short passage with the instructor on hand to give advice and encouragement and ensure your safety. The RYA day skipper practical lets you experience being in charge, taking credit when it all goes well and being responsible when it doesn't.

SailTime Lake Macquarie had a fabulous Australia Day, with members assisting in crewing the yacht to Newcastle Harbour for the Newcastle Maritime Festival.  “Savannah” participated in the Flotilla of lights, and watched spectacular fireworks from the yacht on Newcastle Harbour.  A number of our members participated in the event.  We also had a fantastic opportunity to display “Savannah” on Australia Day, with lots of interest, and a number of trial sails coming from the event.  We were very lucky to have been placed next to past Americas Cup yacht “Australia” on the day.

Paddlefest 2012

We will be participating in March in Paddlefest, an event hosted by Toronto Rotary, to raise awareness and funds for homelessness in the local area. We are extremely happy to be able to assist in this worthy cause by donating a prize, half day sailing on board "Savannah" on our beautiful lake.
