All student who complete a competent crew or higher course automatically receive a $400 discount off the SailTime membership joining fee  plus SailTime members rates for all future training.

• Competent Crew course is for those new to sailing who would like to learn to sail and become active crew members rather than just passengers. Learn to sail while living on board and getting to know the boat. Virtually all the course is hands on. You are the competent crew – without you the sails won't go up and the boat won't be steered.
• The RYA Day Skipper Practical is for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience and basic navigation and sailing skills. Learn to skipper a short passage with the instructor on hand to give advice and encouragement and ensure your safety. The RYA day skipper practical lets you experience being in charge, taking credit when it all goes well and being responsible when it doesn't.

Part Two- Friday April 20^th 10am to Friday April 22^nd 6pm

HOWEVER if you cannot attend both dates you have the option to attend part one on the  course on a date that suits you and then complete part two  of the course later in the year – we will be scheduling course every month throughout the year.

The Hobart sailing calendar has been spectacular this summer with the Mawson Centenerary Flotilla, Sydney to Hobart, Launceston and Melbourne to Hobart and King of the Derwent races followed by the Bruny Island Race, Kettering Wooden Boat Rally 2012 and KYC twilight racing, the World Titles of the Derwent Class Fleet, the Royal Hobart Regatta and SB3 regatta and many more. SailTime Lake Macquarie had a fabulous Australia Day, with members assisting in crewing the yacht to Newcastle Harbour for the Newcastle Maritime Festival.  “Savannah” participated in the Flotilla of lights, and watched spectacular fireworks from the yacht on Newcastle Harbour.  A number of our members participated in the event.  We also had a fantastic opportunity to display “Savannah” on Australia Day, with lots of interest, and a number of trial sails coming from the event.  We were very lucky to have been placed next to past Americas Cup yacht “Australia” on the day.

Paddlefest 2012

We will be participating in March in Paddlefest, an event hosted by Toronto Rotary, to raise awareness and funds for homelessness in the local area. We are extremely happy to be able to assist in this worthy cause by donating a prize, half day sailing on board "Savannah" on our beautiful lake.

SailTime Hobart's vessel, Reflection has had a safe trip to Beauty Point earlier this week and preparations are all in order for the Launceston to Hobart Race starting Tueday 27th December. David, boat owner and base owner, has a crew of seven most of who sailed Reflection in the Sydney To Hobart in 2009.

In addiiton, As many of you know SailTime Hobart Member Tim  will be sailing on Team Whistler in the Sydney to Hobart 2011- we wish them also a safe and speedy voyage.

It has been another  exciting 12 months for SailTime Australia

Highlights have been the opening of our  new base in Manly Queensland to compliment our existing bases in Newport, Middle Harbour, Lake Macquarie and Hobart, the many new members we have welcomed into the world of SailTime throughout the year and the announcement of the newest addition to our Fleet a 42 foot yacht for Newport arriving mid 2012.

The most rewarding experience has been bringing the enjoyment and simplicity of the SailTime model to our many members and  owner members and the many new friends that SailTime has introduced us to.

Great day on Sydney Harbour Friday with the annual Vic Sail Beneteau Regatta. SailTime was well represented with 17 members and guests on board Bluebird our Sydney based Oceanis 34 and Osprey our Newport based Oceanis 40 – Congratulations to Jo and Brendon and all the Vic sail on your 20th annual regatta –  fantastic time was had by all!

Try Sailing Days

We have welcomed a number of new members on board our SailTime Lake Macquarie yacht “Savannah”.  Welcome to Steve and Tracey, and Richard and Maria, who have joined us from the Blue Mountains.  We welcome you all on board!!!

This last month has seen us take out two groups (Black Diamond AFL, and Macquarie College) who have won prizes donated by SailTime Lake Macquarie.  They enjoyed a half day sail on beautiful Lake Macquarie with a gourmet lunch and champagne.  SailTime Lake Macquarie is very proud to support local school, sports and community groups enabling them to raise much needed funds.

Our members Graham and Erika recently enjoyed their day sailing at the Beneteau Regatta in Sydney- no doubt a great day had by all who attended. 

We recently attended the Try Sailing Day at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club, which was a huge success.  We took 30 people on board throughout the day, many whom have never experienced sailing.  It was such a success that we have been invited to attend again next year.  This opportunity also allowed us to share information with the community about the SailTime Lake Macquarie experience.

Yacht Savannah Will be in a TV Commercial !!

Sailtime Lake Macquarie and our yacht "Savannah" will be in a TV commercial and DVD promoting Lake Macquarie and "Love the Lake" campaign next week.  It will be shot from the air and the water, and the makers are hoping to premiere it a a local cinema.  So keep an eye out for "Savannah" on your television!!  Sailtime Lake Macquarie are very proud to be involved in the promotion of our beautiful lake.  A big thank you also to Les Binkin of Marmong Marina for recommending us.
